Joy (Glass) Koch

Award winning artist Joy (Glass) Koch grew up in Montevallo, AL and was a 1993 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School.
She attended Shelton State Community College and after she found that computers and art could be mixed earned a certificate
in Commercial Art in 1995. Thus began her career as a graphic artist. Her only formal training in painting came during her senior
year in high school, when one of her pieces was selected for a regional competition.

In 2005, Ms. Koch decided to start painting again on top of a box in a spare bedroom, with a couple of images that wouldn't
leave her alone until they hit the canvas. As luck would have it, she easily found an art table setup and hasn't stopped painting
since. She continues to work from her residence, creating new artwork and does freelance graphic design. She is frequently in
art competitions and shows in the region surrounding her home.

Here are some of Joy's paintings.
